First off, I’m a bit of a cultural cocktail. I grew up in Düsseldorf, Germany, graduated from a French high school in Metz and studied European Studies and Cultural Sciences in Maastricht, the Netherlands, before moving to London. That’s a lot of moving boxes! In London I worked as a children’s book editor and commissioning editor for 8 years, where I brought book ideas from first concept to publication. That means I got to create books about pretty much anything anyone would ever want to know about sharks, an agony-aunt-style guide to everything a young girl wants to know answered by history’s greatest feminists, and, of course, dozens of books about dinosaurs. No really, dozens. In 2018 I moved to Berlin and started a new career as a copywriter. After a year of working in-house for a startup writing everything from blog articles, press releases, ad campaigns and gentle dishwasher-use-encouragement signs, I decided to become a full-time freelance writer. As well as a diverse range of clients to write for, I now have sole responsibility for the four mugs currently sitting on my desk, as well as the great honour to regularly elect my cat as Employee of the Month. When I’m not writing I practice Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga at Mysore Shala Berlin and have started assisting my teacher on the path to teaching. I love to knit and there’s an 80% chance of me wearing a handknit sweater on our calls should we work together, so if my skills haven’t convinced you yet, that should do the trick.
